The Draw
After a few
pints of beer
and some hearty
pub food, you
may think you've
taken a wrong
turn and ended
up in Dublin.
On weeknights,
Kitty's
is a relaxed,
reasonably-priced
place to catch
a game on TV
or enjoy live
Irish music.
But on weekends,
it's packed
day and night,
thanks to the
thousands of
students and
locals that
descend on the
Quincy Market
area looking
for love in
all the wrong
places.
|
 |
The Scene
The sole U.S.
outpost of this
European chain
of Irish bars
benefits from
its heavily-trafficked
location between
the Financial
District and
Quincy Market.
Daytime brings
a trickle of
tourists and
area workers,
while a young
local crowd
fills up the
space at night.
The bar drips
with character,
thanks to pine
floors imported
from Belfast
and stained
glass windows
depicting historical
Irish scenes. |

About Us
After the opening
of the original
Kitty O'Shea's
on Grand Canal
Street in Dublin
in the early
‘80’s, Brian
and Kevin Loughney
had a dream
of spreading
the
Irish Pub
theme. Their
dream was realized
when they opened
Kitty O'Shea's
in Paris in
1986. It did
not stop there.
Their chain
of Irish Pubs
has stretched
across not only
4 countries,
but 2 continents
as well.
Kitty O'Shea's
Boston
is located in
the heart of
the city's financial
district and
right outside
Boston's Historic
Faneuil Hall.
The pitch pine
floors, which
are 200 years
old, are imported
from a church
in Belfast,
Ireland. The
upstairs bar
is an old pulpit
from an
Irish
church and the
fireplace was
brought over
from an historic
Georgian home
in Dublin. The
Loughneys ensured
that the essence
of
Ireland
could be felt
in every room.
